The flu vaccine is based on last year’s or older strains, by the time you get it, you are anywhere from 2 (in the US) to 4-6 (EU) evolutions of the virus away and your body likely already has the antibodies. If the flu vaccine were even half as effective as they say it is we wouldn’t have the flu anymore.

Watch Tower PA sues Russia in DC district over confiscation of Bethel
by Corney inthe watch tower society of pennsylvania filed a lawsuit on september 3, 2024, naming as defendants the russian federation, the russian ministry of health, and the almazov national medical research center.
unfortunately, i can't access the case documents, including the complaint.
i would appreciate if someone with an active pacer account could make them available.. anyway, it is enough to know the almazov center is one of the entities sued by the wts to say what this case is about.

I thought the WTBTS had already lost its assets before the current iteration of the Ukrainian conflict, so not sure what standing they have to recover any of it because the seizure was due to legitimate concerns about child abuse, blood doctrine for children etc. I think they indeed see a chance that Russia will default due to the current situation, but given their conviction pre-dates any sanctions, a judge shouldn’t give them. Would be similar to people being able to recover losses in the Russian involvements in Georgia or Afghanistan just because ‘we don’t like Russia today’

if the vote happens while biden is still president, it’s unlikely, given the election, the party is willing to throw their anti-semitic base under the bus and wouldn’t veto it, hence why these people are considering doing this now and china/russia would go along just to create some mayhem.
the un weeks ago voted to hand over a significant part of jerusalem to an unspecified state of palestine, this likewise went unopposed by the biden-harris administration.. if this happens, given the outcome of the next election, the us will almost certainly have to abandon and disband the un.

Let’s say WW3 breaks out, which by all intents and purposes Biden probably already started (call it the silent war as nobody is allowed to talk about it) why is that the end? All that has to happen is the media suddenly starts highlighting all the conflict Biden (re)started and put Americans near or on the ground (Ukraine, Poland, Iran, UAE, Saudi-Arabia, Lebanon, Taiwan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Finland, Pakistan, India, China), the EU falls apart, the wars become less covert, effectively that would be WW3.

There really wasn’t any separation when it came to the power structure. The separation was similar to how they separate the structure of local KH with some poor sap holding the bag when shit hits the fan but the rules come from the same place. It is just more obvious to us over the years, to the average JW they still believe their popes are pure and have no financial gain or motivation. The courts by and large have poked through this corporate veil.

When I was a child, many so-called anointed were in their 40s-60s. So not sure what changed since, the eschatological argument has been changed since that the 144k are exclusively their little group of 7 and the apostles, perhaps a few heretics like Tindale if they want to claim some succession, so at most about 100-1000 people qualified in history, they have thousands of years to go before they are sealed … and then the end will come.

@Journeyman: The internet exposed also several of their older songs being 'inspired' by other denominations (some riffs are outright plagiarized). There were more and more viral posts and questions going around, and not only that, they were putting themselves at risk of copyright infringement which around that period also had some famous cases that defined 'sampling' vs 'plagiarism'.
It also helped having less paper to print in a paperback vs hardcover and the enthusiasm of buying entirely new sets of CD from the borg.

as you know my ex wife and i adopted her brother at 7 years old when his parents passed away.. we brought him up a j.w but he left at 16 and moved in with his girlfriend.. it came out he had been interfering with our 3 daughters when they were very young.. he never got prosecuted becouse my daughters didnt want to ( i suspect their mother a hard out j.w has something to do with that) so basicly he walked free.. latter in life he left his girlfreind comes back to the j.ws and they welcome him like the prodical son and he marries a j.w.. if anyone reading this thinks the j.ws like to hide c.s a read on.. it came to my attention recently by 2 ex elders that had read the letter that followers him when he moves congros that it says the sex bettween him and my daughters was consensual..they were under 10 years old.. this were it gets disgusting.. i approach the p.o of my old congro and ask him who wrote the letter he said he had moved by that time go see another elder .. i did he didnt know as well and said for me to ring the branch.. i did and they were not interested in changing the letter at all basicly go away.. the offender has moved congros 3 times and every time they elders think my daughters under 10 went along with this pos.. not sure what my next move is as the branch here has closed down and they operate out of a diffrent country.. if anyone wants to ask questions ill p.m the reply to you..

@karter at the age of 17 there may be a case to get him prosecuted as an adult depending on your jurisdiction, but proving it, prosecuting etc is hard. Best thing to do is report to the police and present them the letter you get from the elders, in many places, elders are required by law to report any allegations and them not doing it is a problem for them.
I wouldn’t expect much if this has been a long time ago, at that point you may decide to get the media involved, reach out to a few journalists, even a small win there will help show people who the JW are.
